New Remeha Avanta Training Facility at Newport College

New Remeha Avanta Training Facility at Newport College

Coleg Gwent's contemporary City of Newport Campus, has recently taken delivery of two Remeha Avanta 28c boilers - NOT for the purpose of keeping students warm - but with the aim of providing a ‘hands-on' training facility. Apprentice plumbers and heating engineers, as well as established gas installers who wish to gain experience of the Remeha range, will be able to take advantage of the new installation.

The Avanta 28c domestic boilers, installed and fully functioning in the modern Plumbing Department of the college, will provide an ideal opportunity for trainees to acquire the skills required for the ACS Certificate, an essential element of the requirements for Gas Safe (formerly Corgi) Registration.

Links were forged between the college and Remeha subsequent to the plumbing and heating exhibition at Old Trafford. College Staff were impressed with the range of boilers and keen that Newport should become the company's training centre for Wales and the West.

Taking advantage of this ideal facility, Remeha intends to establish Gwent College as a Regional Training Centre for their customer base in the South West.  Craig Worth, Remeha's Southern Region Sales Manager, commented that the prime aim of the training installation is to increase the knowledge and confidence of gas installers in the area.  In addition the facility will be open to interested parties, for example, Local Authorities and Housing Associations who can be shown the benefits of Remeha boiler systems, their ease of installation and operation and the high levels of efficiency adhered to. Coleg Gwent Staff will attend Remeha's Wokingham Headquarters in early April and will be shortly delivering  ‘hands on' courses to their students.
